U36 – Gondor Renewed

Where to start?

If you’re 140 you’ll have a letter in the mail directing you to Minas Tirith (Midsummer) where Glindor, the Herald of the King, awaits you. Technically, here is where the new “Epic”/Main quest line starts, so this time around you’ll be teleported to the south road that leads into the Harlond. However, if you leave the area & need to return, remember the actual King’s Gondor landscape is connected to Minas Tirith (After Battle), not Midsummer, so you’ll have to ride south from the right version of the city.

The Harlond is your first hub and from there you’ll progress thru the well-known maps of sunnier, less war-scarred Lossarnach, Upper & Lower Lebennin. The faction is called “The Renewal of Gondor” and the currency is the “Mark of Renewal”, bound to character and with a cap of 500 (unaffected by any existing token boosting items).

Note: the barterer for said tokens is a Quartermaster standing by the West Pelargir stable master.

Quests off the beaten path

There are currently a total of 56 quests in the Gondor Renewed maps. Well, 55… coz the Abandoned Waggon outside Tumladen doesn’t have its quest hooked up as I’m writing this post. Anyhow, I’m going to go over the ones you may have missed.

In Lossarnach:

• “The Deadly Delta Avanc” – autobestowed upon discovering the Erui Delta (coords: 80.8S, 24W).

In Lower Lebennin

• “Adventures of the Trencher-woman” – find Valdamarca in Malbarth.
• 2 autobestowed quests when you discover the “Thama Aklam” camp (coords: 80.8S, 36.8W).
• 2 quests at the Ruins of Ethillorn, there’s a battle-worn soldier by the entrance (coords: 83.8S, 45.6W).

Upper Lebennin

• “The Lonely Dog” by a dock in East Pelargir (coords: 84.5S, 32.4W).
• “All for some greens” – quest item found in Hárba’s camp (coords: 82.4S, 29.6W).
• “Corsairs near Halach” – quest item found in Múshex’s camp (coords: 80.7S, 25.7W).

A few quest tips:

• If you’re having issues finding Lhingar trappers: attack the queens, that’ll draw them out of stealth – hope you’re not too squishy!
• For the Imposter quest in Ost Anglebed: you have options on what to do but they don’t have an impact in the story.
• For the missing librarian, the cave’s at 75.6S, 27W – I’d recommend interacting with every book there, it’s not needed but maybe you’ll get a laugh out of the flavor text.
